“To the Desert” is an original, abstract oil painting and was painted in my WNY studio space. I have so many memories of days spent in the desert throughout my years living in Los Angeles. The wide open space, vast wilderness and weighty silence of Death Valley, Joshua Tree and the Mojave serve as a welcome respite from the creeping claustrophobic chaos felt from too much time in the city. Turning points of relationships, deep inspirations, self-realizations and much needed renewals all pepper the pages of my desert storybook. It was a special place for me, and this painting is my little nod to its wisdom, power and charm
